I have narcissistic tendencies. Every couple of months I do a self-portrait, for purely selfish reasons. Now that I think about it, what would be the selfless reasons for a self-portrait?

David “Netherland” van Alphen has been messing with my mind. If by “Netherland” he means a land in the nether regions of my imagination, then there’s some wizardry or mad science at work that I can’t fathom. His strange and kind of titillating collage has an alluring quality I can only call breathtaking. By combining a pastiche of seventies advertising, and mix of bold painting he creates these outlandish isolated figures that, I daresay, have more personality than the average human. Well, the average human you meet in the real world, in the nether regions of mind it’s a whole other story.

‘Thick eyebrows’ in the tag line
do you think you have thick eyebrows,
do you have a problem with thick eyebrows,
do you find thick eyebrows attractive in others
If I have thick eyebrows is there something I can do about it?

I do self portraits because I’m so handsome, my visage must be shared with the world for the good of humanity.
